Merano will enchant you with the true and genuine warmth of Christmas and its magical atmosphere. The scents of cinnamon and spices, Christmas holiday food and home baking will bring childhood memories flooding back. All these things are part of the Christmas traditions of South Tyrol.Childrens’ eyes won’t be the only ones lighting up at the sight of the soft light emanating from the wooden advent cottages and decorated Christmas trees. The artisans who work on their handicrafts at the Christmas market in Merano and demonstrate their skill help spread a pleasant warmth. The Merano Christmas market embodies all of these things!

  • Starting on 18 November, the Forster Christmas Forest opens its doors: surrounded by sparkling lights, the scent of fir trees and atmospheric music, the same philosophy that has always shaped FORST comes to life here once again: tradition, a connection with nature and quality.
  • From 19 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, the spectacular light show “LUMAGICA” returns to the Botanical Gardens of Merano.

  • From 20 November, the Christmas Market in Trento opens, as well as the ice-skating rink in the village centre of Schenna.

  • From 26 November, the South Tyrolean Christmas Markets are open.
    The hotel is beautifully decorated for the festive season, and the scent of Christmas fills the air.
